PROFESSOR FARIDAH AMIN
Dr Faridah Amin, MBBS, FCPS (Family Medicine), FRCGP [INT], Masters in Clinical Research (AKU), PhD (Health Sciences) awarded a Gold Medal and “Young Research Scholar” for clinical trial on the efficacy of Turmeric and Black seeds in Metabolic Syndrome (TAK-METS).
She has established and heading the Family Medicine Department(2018) at Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan (one of the largest not for profit Pvt. Hospital). Moreover, she has contributed in establishment of Senior Citizens Primary Care Unit (a state or art facility) for the first time in Pakistan at Liaquat National Hospital & Medical College in Year 2019.
She is a recognized faculty member of CPSP (College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan). Her determination towards teaching and training resulted to introduce FCPS family medicine residency program at LNH.
She is a member of advisory committee for establishing a Family practice approach by Ministry of Health, Govt. of Pakistan and provided several health awareness about primary care issues through appearance on Broadcast media, Print Media and various community forums.
Her philanthropic work is evident from a primary healthcare welfare clinics “Feesabilillah Health care”. These clinics are located in suburbs, where patients are offered consultation through MCPS / MRCGP Int. UK family physicians, free medications, and lab tests.

My experience with the LNH clinical research course was amazing, I had a great time attending sessions conducted by Dr faridah amin and miss noureen. The knowledge provided by them was worth the time and money. They tried their best to make it easy for us to understand and made sure we were following her by waiting until everyone was on track followed by weekly assignments. A part of this course really helped me in my university CHS (community health science) module so it was a good revision for me. Miss salima also helped with emailing us our assignment feedbacks on time along with any of our queries and managing the zoom calls without which the sessions wouldn't have been possible.
Visited Liaqat National Hospital and Met pioneer of Family Medicine Unit Dr Faridah Amin. She has true passion and understanding of how important is role of a generalist. Primary Care must have solid foundation in any healthcare economy for a sustainable mode.
I attended the toacs preparatory classes conducted by Dr Faridah Amin this year , I gained hands on knowledge of history taking, "focused"examination and case presentation. Everybody got the chance of examination of every system, these classes boosted my confidence. I found these sessions very helpful .Alhamdullilah I passed in 1st attempt.
